Non-government consumer help groups have answers
When you have a problem with or need information about an investment or financial service, private consumer help groups can assist you in finding the information and/or resources you need. Government agencies are not always able to respond to the needs of each consumer. It's a hit and miss proposition when seeking information or assistance from Federal, state, and local government agencies. Some are excellent, some work well, and some just don't work at all. This gap in government service and information is often filled by private consumer help organizations. Private consumer help groups are not subject to the political and bureaucratic limitations of government agencies so they can offer additional information and services that are not available through a government agency. These private groups can help you nudge a government agency into taking action, provide information about a product or service that is not available from the government, and take the appropriate political and/or other necessary action to address the consumer issue that concerns you. The links presented on the left side of this page are links to consumer help groups and other private resources that can help you obtain information about a potential investment you might make or financial service you might use or deal with an investment or financial service related problem.
